We were so blessed to find a way to serve as a family here in the Aiyura Valley of PNG. Mambu Haus is a building about 15 minutes away from the Ukarumpa centre. This building is open on Saturday afternoons for kids from the valley to come and do crafts, play with toys, play volleyball, work on puzzles, read, play music, have a snack and, most importantly, hear about the love of Jesus. We have volunteered on Saturdays and loved that it was a relaxed and simple way to serve as a family. Mambu Haus … [Read more...] about What About the people of PNG? How Do We Serve Them? How Do We Encourage & Challenge Youth? We Disciple Through Relationships and Missions
The youth we serve in PNG are here because their parents have been called by God to serve in this country but each and every one of these youth have a unique plan that only God knows the details of. Each one of these students has to decide, for themselves, who they will serve and what that will look like in their lives. Our Primary Purpose Is To Support Bible Translation
Every single individual living in Ukarumpa is here, first and foremost, to support Bible Translation. Some individuals are linguists, scripture use workers and translators working directly with the people of PNG. How do we impact the youth? We Mentor through Relationship
God is a God of love and a God who wants to be in relationship with us. We want to share a glimpse of that love with the youth and we do that through relationship. We meet with a group of 6th grade girls and 11th grade boys once a week to mentor them and challenge them in their walks with God and we try to make ourselves available to any youth that are in need of someone to talk to about life and faith. It is our hearts desire that they would know this God of love more and more intimately and … [Read more...] about How do we impact the youth? We Mentor through Relationship
How do we reach the youth? We Build Relationships By Loving Youth
We love youth. Despite the cost, we would choose it again because we have seen God’s hand in it all. We have seen His wisdom and providence and Sovereignty in bringing us here. We have met the young men and women God has called us here to serve and they are wonderful. We are living in a community plagued with transition, here to minister to a group of teenagers who have had to say hundreds of goodbyes and hellos in their lifetime. We spend time with the youth, we cook, bake, listen and love them … [Read more...] about How do we reach the youth? We Build Relationships By Loving Youth
