‘Pasin’ of Prayer
One of the phrases that I love in Tok Pisin is the way that they say ‘habit or regular occurrence.’ The word for habit in Tok Pisin is ‘pasin’ (pronounced 'pass' + 'in') and they might say ‘Pasin bilong PNG’ which means something that happens often in PNG. Need for Teachers
In Ukarumpa, we have two campuses and over 300 students. Each student represents family units who serve in various ways here in Papua New Guinea. Their parents might be mechanics, electricians, language survey workers, pilots, store managers, HR personnel or Bible translators and having a school here that provides a quality, Christ-centered education is an incredibly large part of enabling these adults to be here and continue the work that God has set before them in light of their unique talents … [Read more...] about Need for Teachers

As I’ve already shared with all of you, not only does this centre exist to support Bible translation, but there are hundreds of people within the centre serving one another with the skills God has given them. In Ukarumpa, every other year, the middle schoolers go on a field trip to Lae. They tour around various factories, like the factory where they prepare much of the chicken we eat here in PNG and a factory for making Gala Ice Cream which is a magical, interesting version of ice cream that even those with lactose intolerances can somehow consume safely 🙂 (Our store also graciously brings in ‘real’ ice cream sometimes and we have the option to make our own if you can buy cream in the country - which … [Read more...] about Creativity & Relationship
